About the artist
Joel produces three-dimensional collages using pieces of found materials and everyday objects. His inventive use of what he finds manifests itself in architectural and figurative models. Often surprising and very imaginative, it is possible to see where the pieces have come from but they are morphed to create something new and unique. His main interests are those associated with society and the way people function, communicate and move about in environments. Joel is currently producing a complex model of a day centre where each room is meticulously put together. He is very independent and focused, and this is demonstrated in his attention to detail in all his sculpture.
