Our 2019 Impact Report – Community building
We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest impact report which recounts this past year’s progress, achievements, and which outlines our goals for the future. At Artbox we’re well aware of the feelings of isolation faced by people who are living with autism and learning disabilities. To help our current and future artists overcome this struggle is at the heart of our mission. This year we are proud to say that 100% of Artbox artists felt happy when attending our workshops, and 92% made new friends in the process. The numbers and testimonies profiled in the following report are a true testament of the community we have created in the Artbox studio.
One of our main goals for the year was to expand this feeling of belonging beyond the studio space by strengthening Artbox’s roots in the local community of Islington. It is with great success that we collaborated with organisations such as the Facebook Art department and the House of Illustration. This allowed us to increase our visibility and provide more opportunities for Artbox artists to interact with people outside of the studio.
Looking ahead, we are now working to strengthen and multiply these relationships. Our aim is to increase our reach by promoting the work of our artists more widely, and enhance their confidence by giving them teaching and volunteering opportunities. We hope that these efforts will generate tangible outcomes such as more revenues for the artists.
