Rivka
Explore Rivka’s work at Sharing Is Caring, a group exhibition in partnership with University College London Hospitals Arts & Heritage from 22 November - 5 February. Find out more about the exhibition at The Street Gallery of UCLH.
Rivka is a very colourful and lively force in the studio. Rivka’s paintings, and personality, are profoundly encouraging - they capture various mental health struggles but also provide a sense of hope that things can change. She engages with everyone, from offering to draw them their favourite cartoon character to advocating for people with learning disabilities. Rivka says:
“Just cos we have special needs, doesn’t mean that we don’t have a brain, don’t have thoughts, don’t have a mind. Just like someone who has hay fever or allergies, it’s just something that we have, it doesn’t make us any less than anyone else. If you look down on us or think we’re stupid - DON’T!”
