Come to Artbox London for an evening of Risograph printing! In this workshop you will learn about and experiment with this fun and colourful medium, and develop your own multiple colour prints. These 3-hour sessions are beginner friendly and any level of experience with riso printing is welcome.

You will use materials like inks, pens, pastels and collage materials to create your design and separate colours ready for printing. You are welcome to bring in previous work of your own, or any favorite material you’d like to incorporate into your prints.

You will make a two-colour A4 or A3 print, depending on your design, and you will bring home up to 10 copies.

There are up to 5 places in each workshop.

Note: This workshop does not focus on digital creation of artwork or printing from digital sources. Each session will involve an introduction for beginners, so if it is your first time please try to arrive at 5.30.

Riso printing is commonly used for making prints, comics, zines, posters, flyers, and cards. The riso printer looks a bit like a photocopier and uses rice paper stencils and drums of soy based ink to create mono-coloured layers, similar to screen printing. It is vibrant, distinctive and has lots of room for experimentation.

At Artbox London we have a one drum A3 duplicator and our ink colours are Fluo Pink, Yellow, Red, Green, Medium Blue, Aqua and Black. We have a variety of uncoated recycled paper to choose from. We also have guillotines, long arm staplers and bookbinding tools.

If you have any questions about these workshops, please emaillaura@artboxlondon.org

Artbox London is a registered charity and social enterprise supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to create, exhibit, sell and license their artwork. All profits raised from this workshop will go towards supporting the charity and our artists.
