Maz
“I like art so much because it’s in my blood and it’s my family. It’s like magic, it’s like love, I can feel it in my veins. Artbox is somewhere new which I have really enjoyed. It’s like an Artbox family.”
“My work is all different just like me; I am unique”
Maz’s artworks are vibrant, energetic and colourful, all spreading the message of love and peace. They are a modern take on Pop Art, with Maz’s inspiration coming from her idols Andy Warhol, Damian Hirst, and most importantly, her grandfather who was also an artist.
Maz explores a range of themes in her practice which are all centred around peace and are built upon her own experiences and beliefs. She has drawn upon her Buddhist religion to inspire some of her recent works which incorporate her own contemporary twist of the mandala, a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism. Whether it be through her advocation of the LGBTQ social movement or her religion, Maz spreads love and happiness through her artwork and her vibrant colours and intricate designs never fail to catch the eye.
